Karate Club

Located in South Liverpool L7, the Al-Ghazali Shotokan Karate Club has been running for 26 years. Being one of the most successful clubs in the country, a range of talented, disciplined athletes have been produced. Join us to be part of the ongoing success at the karate club!

Al Ghazali Shotokan Karate Club

The Al-Ghazali Shotokan Karate club was established in 1999 and is affiliated to the JKS England (Japan Karate Shotorenmei). The JKS is affiliated to the EKF (English Karate Federation) which is the approved karate governing body in the UK for the WKF (World Karate Federation), therefore giving our members access to a wider range of karate competitions and opportunities in the world.

The Club has over 100 registered members with 7 black belt students. The Club is regularly involved in various national and international competitions.

Sensei Hisham Saif, 4th Dan, is a 3 x World kata Champion and 3 x European Champion individually making him one of the most successful karate competitors.

Children: £4 per session Adults: £5 per session

Saturdays & Sundays: 3.15pm – 4.00pm   ( Junior Sessions ) Saturdays & Sundays: 4.00pm – 5.00pm   ( Senior Sessions )

The Clubs Achievements

  • World Championships in individual and team kata at junior level (Chicago – 2011).
  • World Championships at individual kata at senior level (Liverpool – 2013).
  • Junior European Champion in 2011 (Poland),
  • Senior European Champion in 2012 (Serbia) and
  • Senior European Champion in 2014 (Zurich).
  • First female Muslim black belt in the North West region.
  • Muslim Female brown belts where first to achieve first place in North Wales competition 2003.
  • One of the youngest National Champions– Hisham Saif who reached black belt status at the age of 9 years old.
