About

Welcome to The Al-Ghazali Centre

The Al-Ghazali Multicultural Centre is at the heart of Liverpool’s Muslim community, standing as the city’s longest-established and largest community centre. Our mission is to preserve and nurture Muslim identity while fostering unity, respect, and inclusivity across all backgrounds.

Established in 1992 and acquiring our current building in 2002, we have grown from a small initiative to an essential hub serving tens of thousands of people each year. From children and youth to adults, we provide a safe, welcoming space where individuals can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our Mission

We serve as a lifeline for Liverpool’s Muslims, offering cultural, educational, and social services while promoting engagement with the wider community. Our centre reflects our values, enriches lives, and preserves Muslim heritage for future generations.

At the Al-Ghazali Centre, we are committed to:

✅ Education – Providing Islamic and academic learning opportunities.

✅ Social Cohesion – Strengthening community bonds and cultural exchange.

✅ Spiritual Growth – Fostering a deep connection to faith and well-being.

Why is the Centre Named Al-Ghazali?

Our centre is named after Imam Al-Ghazali, one of the most renowned scholars in the Western world. His work in the fields of reasoning and dialogue has been widely celebrated for bridging the gap between Eastern and Western philosophies.

Imam Al-Ghazali’s teachings promoted integration between tradition and modernity, fostering unity and understanding across diverse cultures. His legacy inspires our mission to nurture harmony and collaboration within our multicultural society.
